Aerialforce Comment on UK’s State of Preparation for Digital Switchover
Aerialforce, a leading UK supplier of satellite, home entertainment, digital aerial installations and services, comment on the news that half a million UK homes are still unprepared for the digital switchover.
A recent report suggests that around 500,000 homes in the Midlands are yet to buy equipment which will allow them to receive digital transmissions. As the switchover is due to finish in 2012, every home will need to ensure they have the proper equipment to pick up digital broadcasts, as traditional analogue transmissions are finally phased out.
The digital switchover is happening to give every region in the country the best possible broadcast reception, for a clearer picture and extra channels. Since the digital switchover was announced in 2005, many homes have already invested in the necessary digital-ready equipment.
“Many people have been watching digital television for years now via Freeview, and so will be unaffected by the switchover,” commented a spokesperson for Aerialforce. “The homes that are still watching analogue TV will need to invest in some form of digital equipment to be prepared for the transition. We can provide a wide selection of digital TV options, such as Freeview or Freesat, which will enable every home to keep watching television undisturbed, and can offer advice on what may be the right choice for their viewing habits.”
